It’s Been A While

Hi everyone,

It’s been a while and I am sorry I have not been blogging at all recently. Work has been really busy, among other things, but getting all of said tasks within and without the context of work for now helps! I resolve, thus, to blog more regularly and hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas! So long as we don’t forget the Reason for the Season, all should be well. Truthfully, the month or so that I ended up taking off from blogging and such has changed much, but I am back now and a more mature person for it, I think.

That said, how were your Christmas Days and how will you celebrate the remaining eleven days of the season? Let me know! Thanks!

God Bless, like always, everyone,

Michelle

On Ferguson….

Hey everyone,

This is Michelle again. On the Ferguson issue, I have little to say but this and herein I post it:

That’s the sum of what I believe, right there. I imagine God is grieved, to say the least, that His loved ones and nonbelievers alike are hurting each other in the name of peace. What do you think? Who wants to change the world for God (the Christian God, as I am a Christian), with me?

God Bless,

Michelle

A Bit of Writing: Intermission: Part 2: Brokenness and Love That Heals……THANK YOU

Y’all, y’all, y’all, y’all!! I can’t even begin to summarize in words what I am feeling at the moment….at least not entirely adequately, though hopefully concisely!! Y’all….thank you for checking out that video I posted last night! It means a lot to me that y’all are seeing the Truth and I am reminded, by the grace of God, just how many people are looking for His love in Him and how desperate we all are for Him!!!!! Wow. Y’all have encouraged me in ways I cannot even begin to list here…..That said, I’m going to sign off for now, but wow…..Expect me to keep writing and encouraging you….That’s all that matters in the end, anyway, right? God be glorified and His people be edified and found in Him, past, present, and future.

By the way, if you have not checked out the video yet, here it is, once again:

He loves you so much…He loves all of us so much!!I pray you find true love and REST in Him….rest in Him and that He loves you!

That said, thank you again and God Bless you all. Finally, if you want to check out the full sermon, including the excerpt above, here it is: http://vimeo.com/112017331.

God Bless,

A Bit of Writing: Intermission: Brokenness and Love That Heals

I can guarantee in no uncertain terms this is what life is for and meant to be for: God. Healing. Love. Redemption. I am proud to call Mosaic Christian Church my home church and thank my God every moment I realize how blessed I am!!

If you take nothing else from this excerpt of what the sermon at Mosaic was, know this: we are all broken and helpless to save and heal ourselves. Thank God, He is our Lord and Father, ever willing, ready and able to forgive. 2 Peter 3:9

By the way, in case you are interested in the full sermon:

It is 40 minutes long, including the excerpt of the video I just featured. I promise every minute is worth watching. God is working at Mosaic and everywhere else in the world. Don’t let the opportunity to find Him and/or grow closer to Him pass you by, now or ever. Living for Him is worth every moment of your time here on Earth and someday in Heaven if you have found Him. Matthew 11:28-30, John 3, John 17-21….I could go on, but this is it for now, to be concise. That said, I am also praying however you need it. Be blessed!

God Bless,

Michelle

A Bit of Writing, Part 4: Spoken Word Poetry: Redeemed

John 14:6.

Hi everyone,

This is Michelle, like always. The writing continues, as always. So, without further ado, the writing is as follows:

Redeemed I have been from the darkest of lives

Redeemed from my sins, I now know God on high.

Redeemed from my past, my pain is not who I am

Nor will my sin ever hold me captive again.

No, my imperfection does not define me –

Imperfect indeed though I am and alone will be.

Yet in all my imperfection, God’s work in me will soon be complete.

So no longer does my sinful nature bind me,

For Christ’s atoning death and resurrection set me free

And made me His beloved, a child of God, one redeemed.

I am redeemed.

A Bit of Writing, Part 3: Spoken Word Poetry: “The Reason I Live”

This image is from http://www.bestfreechristian.com/ if you want to know more about where I get the clip art I use!!

Hi everyone,

Sorry I am a bit late on the posting again. This poem came to me kind of suddenly when I was pondering what to write and it took a bit of editing to make it clearer and, consequently, more easily readable. Let me know what you think when you get the chance. Thanks!

But first, some notes are in order:

* Unless otherwise noted, all Scripture is taken from the New King James Version translation of the Bible.

+ Philippians 3:7

++ Matthew 5:3

+++ Jesus says “do not be afraid” many, many times in Scripture. There are so many times that the exact phrase appears in the Bible that listing them all would take hours. I leave you with this link and hope it will suffice, then!!

http://www.biblegateway.com/quicksearch/quicksearch=do+not+be+afraid&startnumber=1&limit=50&searchtype=phrase

That said, here is the poem I just finished.

The Reason I Live

Lately my life’s gotten complicated

But I’m blessed in spite of all the confusion

Yes, I’m blessed in spite of my wondering

‘Cause I know my God holds my future in His hands.

Safely and securely can I come to His throne

Knowing that my God made me ever His own

And He loves me and died for me to atone

For all of my sins and to give me hope.

Yes, by His death on the Cross and resurrection

My life has a goal, a reason and purpose,

Yes, I know I could live another life,

“But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ.”*+

So I give and live my life to the glory of my Lord and Savior

A Princess answering to her God, Lord, and King forever.

Yes, indeed, I am His child and may seem a fool

But I prefer to serve the living God than to be Satan’s tool.

After all, if all is vain and nothing’s worth doing

Then why are we here? So we must exist for something.

I know what it is: it’s called God and His Kingdom

And I invite to come know His love through God the Son, Jesus.

That said, I don’t promise life will be perfect and easy,

But I can assure you He gives rest to the weak and weary.

Yes, ““Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”++

Keep pressing on, and you’ll be blessed beyond measure.

I know I have, by the grace of God, and all I can say

Is I’m glad God gave me new life in my youngest days

For if He hadn’t, I don’t know where I’d be today.

Praise God, then, He did, and He can give you the same;

Just give Him your heart, your everything, and “do not be afraid”.+++

For, beloved one of God, it may not be easy, but the glory of God will be worth the pain

And when you get to Heaven you will spend forever with Him and His amazing grace…

Isn’t that something? I think it is.

Come and let Him lead you to Himself and what you’ll see is what you’ll get

And more when you let God show you He was, is, and will always be worth it.
