It’s Been A While

Hi everyone,

It’s been a while and I am sorry I have not been blogging at all recently. Work has been really busy, among other things, but getting all of said tasks within and without the context of work for now helps! I resolve, thus, to blog more regularly and hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas! So long as we don’t forget the Reason for the Season, all should be well. Truthfully, the month or so that I ended up taking off from blogging and such has changed much, but I am back now and a more mature person for it, I think.

That said, how were your Christmas Days and how will you celebrate the remaining eleven days of the season? Let me know! Thanks!

God Bless, like always, everyone,

Michelle

Happy Bastille Day!/Joyeux Jour de la Bastille!

Courtesy of Google.fr. Courtoisie de Google.fr.

Hi everyone,

Today’s first of two blog entries is a simple wish of happiness to my French followers and viewers! Happy Bastile Day! How will you be celebrating? Additionally, to those who are not French or do not otherwise commemorate the French Day of Independence, what do you know about Bastille Day and what do you think we as the rest of the world can learn from the French? All told, I will do more writing tonight as well. God Bless and thanks, y’all!

God Bless, like always

Michelle

Michelle

Holiday Musings Part 1: Saint Valentine’s Day/Pensées Pour Les Fêtes : Premiere Partie: Le Jour de Saint Valentin

Note: The entry is also in French, as the majority of my entries will be in both English and French. Enjoy (I hope!)!

Note: L’article de blog est en français aussi, comme la plupart de mes articles de blog seraient en anglais et français ensemble.

Hi y’all,

I hope you are having or had a splendind Saint Valentine’s Day! Were you able to spend time with loved ones, be they family, friends, significant others, pets, et cetera? I hope so, because I think that’s what God wants and Saint Valentine would have wanted. After all, God created us for relationships with him and one another. Believers especially are to be in community with one another, as per multiple passages of Scripture on the subject, and we are to love all for Jesus’ sake, as He commanded us to do so.

Yep, Saint Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be about romance after all! That said, I hope you have a blessed rest of your day and check this out: John 13:34-35.

God Bless, as always,

Michelle

Michelle

A Bit of Writing: Part 7: Spoken Word Poetry: Frustration and Reflection

Hi everyone,

As I promised, I am back to writing. This poem will be a bit darker but end on an optimistic note, like usual, as a long day and perhaps getting sick inspired it. After all, an irregular sleep schedule since Thanksgiving and slight dehydration today can be enough to make the average human being, like me, sick. I hope it was just a fluke, which I think it was. That said:

Frustration and Reflection

Sometimes I think I can’t take anymore

That my life’s going nowhere or I’m not sure/

What God has for me, though I know it’s something.

After all, having no purpose would be no reason for living./

Thankfully, I needn’t worry nor despair

For I know my God is everywhere./

And nothing I do or say will ever be in vain

For there is a time and a purpose for everything. /

That said, I am thankful to have this gift of life/

To know my Lord and my God, by the grace of Jesus Christ

My Lord, my master, I will serve You until my dying day/

Then again when I see Thy face in eternity.

There it is. I may add to it later, but I doubt it. Clean, civil, constructive, and other such comments are welcome, of course. God Bless!

As always,

Michelle

Back to Writing Tomorrow

Hi everyone,

I hope you are well and, just so you know, I will start publishing more writing again tomorrow. I have been busy and distracted since the Thanksgiving Break ended and the semester finals period has begun. For those also preparing to take finals and taking finals, God bless you. For those in need of prayer otherwise, whatever the circumstance, I am praying for you also. God Bless!

As always,

Michelle

A Bit of Writing: Part 6: Something in French (Un Peu d’Écriture en français)

The image is from http://www.bestclipartblog.com/clipart-pics/poetry/clip-art-2.jpg. I felt like that, while the art was meant to represent the act of writing poetry, it can represent any kind of writing, really, if taken alone!

Hi everyone,

I hope you’re having a blessed weekend so far! In case you didn’t already know, my native language is English of the Standard American dialect, but I am also fluent in French of the Standard Parisian dialect and know some French of the Quebecer dialect as well. That said, I thought I’d share something I wrote in French the day before Thanksgiving:

La vie instable, c’est une leçon pour moi

‘A faire la confiance en Dieu pour ma vie et mon âme/

Il me connait le mieux, je suis qu’Il est Dieu……

(This unstable life is a lesson for me

To trust in God for my life and my soul

He knows me best, I know He is God….)

It is a work in progress, but I will try to write more in the coming week and update the poem as I am able. Out of curiosity, as well, do you any of you dabble in creative writing? If so, do you write poetry, song lyrics, music, novels, short stories, serials, et cetera? Let me know. I’d be interested in reading more about you as well as sharing my heart with you and allowing my life to be an expression of the living God. Praise Him, I get to do that because He died on the cross for me and rose again, atoning for my sins in my place and rising again to show He is Who He says He is!!!

That said, I welcome any and all comments as long as they are clean, civil, and constructive. Thanks!

God Bless,

Michelle

A Bit of Writing: Part 5: Spoken Word Poetry: Thankful

Snoopy being the chef makes me smile and reminds me I am thankful for my family, friends, and the military especially at this moment. We who live in America are blessed to have more than enough in many, many cases. I also have a wonderful mother, sister, and fur-niece ( a Maltese-Poodle puppy) named Reilly. I also have many wonderful uncles, aunts, and cousins for whom I couldn’t be more thankful at the moment. 🙂 And friends….so much blessing. Thank You, God. 🙂 You are more than enough, and I am humbled and blessed to know more blessings besides. 🙂 Wow. Thank You, God – again.

Hey everyone,

As promised, I am writing something for tonight (and, again, it is a work in progress, as sometimes inspiration comes at moments one does not expect, such as when one is tired and has no idea what to write.) Oddly enough, the inspiration came from my own previous writings, as God reminded me through a previous post that I have much to consider and thank Him for. After all, it is Thanksgiving week, so here it is as I am writing now:

I have so much, more than enough

That I consider how blessed I am; I have too much/

At least I feel I need to give much away,

But then again, I will when comes the day./

God has a plan for me, I know, for I exist,

And He makes nothing for which He has no purpose./

What is more, I am saved and redeemed

And have an incredible family, friend group, and country./

Moreover, I get more than enough daily to eat

And have clean water to drink, clothes to wear, and a place to sleep./

Thank God, I can sleep every night that passes by in peace

For He gave us men and women to protect and keep America free./

As I write, I find myself beyond words once again, indeed,

For I have more than enough to live well- certainly more than adequately./

That said, I have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving, and every day.

May it be that I am thankful each day, I pray.

Thus, may God open all of our eyes, our ears, minds, and hearts/

To be thankful for every day we have at its beginning, whether we wake in light or dark.

Yes, I will now look on every day with new eyes

No matter what happens, when I live and the day I die/

I know my Redeemer was, is, and is to come

And for me, Him and His blessings besides are more than enough.

What are you thankful for, by the way? Let me know in the comments! God Bless!
